Growing a film-focused Facebook page in 2026 is harder than it looks. We share the exact content strategy, posting cadence, and reel formats that took Behind the Scene from launch to over 1,600 followers.
The Niche Problem
Film content on Facebook competes with everything. News, family updates, viral videos, political content — the algorithm doesn't care about your niche. It cares about engagement. So the first challenge was building content that film audiences would engage with deeply enough to signal value to the algorithm.
The answer was specificity. Not "film content" — but behind-the-scenes content that answered specific questions film audiences actually have. How does that effect work? What happened on that set? Why does that shot look the way it does? Specific questions get specific engagement.
Posting Cadence
We post three times per week — Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. This cadence was chosen after testing daily posting (too much, quality suffered), weekly posting (too infrequent, algorithm deprioritised us), and various combinations. Three times per week gives us enough frequency to build habit without sacrificing quality.
The Reel Format That Grew Us
The format that drove the most follower growth was the "reveal" reel — showing something that looks real, then pulling back to show how it was made. This format creates a natural share impulse: viewers want to show their friends the trick. Shares are the highest-value engagement signal on Facebook, and this format generates them consistently.
